The Sarangsam Calendar Project
Deadline: June 30th
We are hosting a call to action photography competition to be featured in this year’s Sarangsam Calendar Project!
We are in our third year of the project spearheaded by Sang Jung and Kim Weston. The project’s goal is to supply prison inmates with inspirational calendars to offer hope for what lies ahead in their future. With not being able to hold classes for the project last year, we are in need of black and white images to select for this year’s calendar. Usually, students are welcome to attend weekly photography sessions at The Weston Collective where they learn the basics of photography and have weekly photo assignments with the end goal of creating a calendar. Last year 3,000 calendars were supplied to inmates and we hope to continue to grow that number to 6,500 this year.
If your images is selected, you will receive full credit of your work and be a source of inspiration to the inmate population. Funding will be raised for the calendars and then once made, delivered to varying prisons around California.
