Itzel Zach, Gina, Kim and I were fortunate enough to run into the lovely Itzel Ponce at Zach's recent exhibition for Carmel's centennial at Gallery EXPOSED! She and I emailed back and forth over the past couple of months and I was lucky enough to get permission to feature her and her work on our site. I know we will be seeing more of her in the future.

Here's what she said about her experience with the Weston Scholarship:

"My name is Itzel Ponce, I am college senior with photography as my major at Sacramento State. I have a passion for black and white photography, especially for 4x5 film. After being recognized and rewarded from the Weston Scholarship I was more than inspired to continue with nude abstracted photography and has pushed me to this day to continue abstraction in images with nudes."

Please enjoy a sample of the work she's been doing recently below and visit her website www.takkenponce.yolasite.com!
