The 2020 New Bohemian Nights Chef | Sarah LaCasse
Sarah started her cooking career in Los Angeles at Mangia, an upscale Italian concept in West LA, after spending a year studying in Florence, Italy. She progressed quickly from pastry assistant to line cook at Camelions Restaurant, chef at Central Park Café and very soon Executive Chef at Le Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. She moved to Carmel in 1991 in order to accept the chef position at Crème Carmel. She has worked on the peninsula since that time, most recently as executive chef of Earthbound Farm’s 30-acre farm in Carmel Valley, California. Sarah joined Earthbound Farm in 2006 with 23 years of experience in kitchens ranging from a small neighborhood bistro to a world-class metropolitan hotel. She has opened restaurants, managed retail operations, and run her own catering business. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Italian and history at UCLA.
